“It’s not fair!” sobbed Evan, “Why can’t I go and see my Daddy?”
“Because your mother and the Council of Trees have decided that you must live with her,” answered the kind farmer, as he tried to comfort Evan.
“But I want to see my Daddy too. I love my Daddy and he loves me. He was the one who gave me my name and he lets me help him and he plays with me. It’s not fair! I miss him so much I think my heart will break in two!”
The kind farmer felt helpless as he watched Evan’s branches droop even further. He gently picked up one branch in his work-worn hands and whispered, “Evan, I think it’s time you went to see the Wise Old Oaks to the north of the orchard. They will be able to tell you what you need to do to help your heart feel well and strong again.”
And so began Evan’s journey of discovery and healing…………..

About the Book
Evan is a young tree in the orchard of a kind farmer. His world is shattered when his parents break up and his father leaves the orchard. The kind farmer sends Evan to visit his wise grandparents for comfort….and so begins Evan’s journey of discovery about grief and healing.
About the Author
Carol lives in Queensland, Australia and has four grown children and five grandchildren. Carol has worked with primary age children on a voluntary basis for many years and is moved by the struggles of so many children due to parental relationship breakdowns. Evan’s Journey was written after the breakup of one of her own children’s marriages that sadly severed the relationship with her first grandchild.
