As the seasons passed, the pine and Julia grew, and she learned something one day that’s curious but true. Almost hidden but peeking out of the tall grass that day was a little weeping willow that had come to stay. Julia felt moved to adopt it on sight, discovering it on her own was such a delight. She knew the pine would welcome it too – they’d both seen what love in a landscape can do.

About the Book
In this poetic portrait, three farm girls adopt their own trees and make discoveries about nature, the magic of nurturing, and themselves. As they all grow, they share the joy of living in a loved landscape and the beauty of their unique differences.
Each tree, by nature's fortune, had treasures to impart, as each of us has gifts to offer from the heart.
About the Author
Sandra Miller was a farmer in Maine for ten years and a gardener on Long Island for thirty. She has also spent forty-eight years as a journalist and twelve as a grandma. She is an assistant editor at Newsday in Melville, New York, and she lives in Amityville, New York, not too far from her girls. Deborah Cuneo, a mother of three and former elementary school art teacher, has been a freelance illustrator for over twenty-five years. She is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, the Long Island Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, and the Children’s Book Illustrator Group of New York. She enjoys quilting and fiber arts, as well as time with family on Long Island.
