One of the big keys is to get to learn what matters most to you. What are your values in your personal relationships and in your work life? In relationships with women and men, how will you treat others and what standard will you set for how they treat you? Although your parents provided many strong influences on what you grew to feel, what you do now is up to you. It is about your own inner wisdom. Wisdom? You? Yes, you have inner wisdom! With some reflection, your sense of yourself and your self-confidence will grow over the next few years. While getting to know that inner wisdom that is yours alone, keep your ears and heart open for wise women who can be “big sisters” and best friends and trusted angels on your path. They will be there, especially if you ask for them. Just put it out there: “I really want someone to talk to who will be a great listener”. Write out your wishes and hopes and questions. Then keep your ears open for helpful people to show up around you. This is an important life skill. Truth is––all of our lives this will work for us if we pay attention and are open to it! There will be “angels” on our path to help us.

About the Author
Cynthia Alika Rose has worked for more than twenty years with young people in public schools as a school counselor. She has a passion for helping young women, spending time with children, and enjoying animals. She has more than fifty years of life experience and currently lives in New York State. She is the oldest of three children and the only girl. She has a graduate degree in education and school counseling. She was also an art major in high school and has had an art studio at times over the past decade. Cynthia has a strong commitment to young women and finds great joy in connecting with them.
