NOT SO SILENT MUFFIE

Discover the thoughts of a little Angel in disguise who decided to come to earth in the form of an adorable little 4 legged “toy” of a dog. Little Muffie had a personality that made him unforgettable to anyone who encountered him. He touched the hearts of all he came in contact with. I, as his human mother, had the privilege of seeing into his soul and hearing the thoughts of his mind. He was intuitive, wise, courageous, loyal, self-less and of course, to balance all this “goodness” he did have a little bit of attitude.

Muffie decided to share his thoughts so humans could understand that pets and in particular dogs, have things of importance to share and enlighten this world. He was able to show that pets love to extreme, they feel sadness, joy, hunger, cold, and all the common things that humans experience. Muffie felt that the purpose of pets is to help their humans, to generate contentment in their families, to take their pains and sorrows and absorb these so their humans wouldn’t hurt so much. It is widely believed that pets balance their human family, experience emotions and have thoughts and opinions . Pets are being recognized as contributing to society in all areas including medicine, valuable in rehabilitation and even counselling. They are doing their part and now it’s time that we humans start recognizing their importance and give them the respect and care due them.

Muffie’s book can be used as a teaching tool for parents to teach their children about the care and understanding of their family pets. The thoughts that Muffie shares with us reveal what is really going on in the brains and hearts of our pets. Muffie shares his outlooks on life, his perceptions of the human-animal interactions, his spiritual insights, his compassion and of course, his unique and special personality. His mom remembers a time when he tried to make a friend’s little Chihuahua puppy feel safe and accepted on a visit to Muffie’s home. This friend and Muffie’s mom watched him drag all his toys out of his toy box and pile them up, one by one, in front of this little puppy who was shaking from head to toe. Muffie kept bringing in toys until the pile of toys was higher than the puppy. What a cute sight and how revealing as to the depth of his understanding, kindness and compassion. Characteristics that are considered valuable in our society but not typically recognized in animals.

Another time Muffie was taken to visit his sick Grandmother in the hospital and he surprised everyone by going directly to her room, not having ever been there before. He led the way to the correct entrance door of the hospital and without hesitating, he walked down the hospital corridor to her room. He walked directly to her bed and indicated he wanted to be put into her arms. The love he showed brought tears to everyone’s eyes and joy to his Grandmother for that brief moment. He displayed his intelligence regularly and surprised others dealing with him. When he had his pictures taken for a family album his mom wanted, he did everything that the photographer wanted him to do. If she wanted him to run, we just told him to run and he did, right in front of the camera. He would pose like he enjoyed having his picture taken.

Muffie’s desire in this book is to see people paying more attention to animals especially parents teaching their children about pets. There are so many children out there who have not the slightest notion of how to relate to their pets. Muffie used to see this regularly when his Mom would take him out for walks and they would meet up with children walking their pets. On occasion he saw children abusing their pet and like his Mom told him, it is likely out of ignorance rather than cruelty. She didn’t hesitate to give a lesson right there to that child or children. He had seen her do it on occasion. That being said, he would just look the other way and pretend he didn’t know her. Afterwards he would explain to her that he was not embarrassed with what she did, it was just that he felt it would be easier for the children involved if he removed himself from that situation. He did agree with her that others need to be taught how to relate to pets and even other animals in the animal kingdom.

Muffie understands and shares his mom’s dream of setting up an orphanage for abandoned children and abandoned animals. A place of safety where healing happens and along with that healing responsibility and accountability is taught. Where an abandoned animal would be paired off with an abandoned child and together they would discover love, acceptance, caring and compassion, becoming a “family”. A place where these lost and hurting souls could unite to heal and make this world a better place. In this atmosphere of love and acceptance, tolerance and understanding would become first place, revealing to the world at large just how important healthy relationships are for the wholeness of the individual. When the individual becomes whole, society becomes whole.

Remember, our sole purpose in this life is to bring you, our “parents” joy and well-being. That gives us, your so called pets from the animal kingdom, pleasure and purpose. Know that as long as we are there for you and with you, all is well in the world and energy flows freely.
