About the Author

Suzanne Kraus first tried on a veil when she was eight years old; traveling throughout Asia and the Middle East with her family. A mother of two and a global Montessori educator; she loves working with children, and creating stories and illustrations that awaken joy in her readers. She currently resides in Atlanta, Ga.

I see in this book a tool to engage children's imagination and approach new cultural concepts in a positive light, without any pre-conceived ideas. It shows that difference is not a boundary that needs divide us. It's a lovely book and I think my students would adore it in a reading center, along with some scarves and other pieces of clothing picked up during my travels to transform themselves as the main character does!
