In order to love yourself, you must do what will make you happy. Sometimes that may not always please others. However, if you make choices based on what others want you to do, although it may satisfy the other person, the feeling that you made the right choice will be temporary. Unfortunately, in the long term, you may not only end up resenting your decision, you may also end up resenting the other individual. The outcome of that choice could result in a broken relationship. Individuals are so busy trying to fill the internal void with other people’s love, that they miss out on the greatest love of all -- the love of self.

About the Author
MARY CAVALIERE, aka Sicilian Mamma, became an Ordained Minister and Certifi ed Pastoral Counselor through the D’hartma Center For Life Mastery in Torrington, Connecticut in 2000. She holds a Bachelor’s in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. As a life coach, and an advocate for same-sex marriage and religious tolerance, she has been helping others to transform their lives for over twelve years. When Mary is not writing, officiating weddings, or coaching, she can be found performing in professional theater, or appearing on television and in fi lm. She is single, a mother of two children, and resides in Huntington Beach, California with her teenage daughter, Samantha, their 12-year old toy poodle Jo-Jo, and their Balinese cat Oscar.
