This book is the story of two people who shared a beautiful love for twenty-eight magical years, until an unwelcomed stranger entered their lives and slowly destroyed everything. It was cunning and sinister and hid itself in a deceptive haze, keeping them slightly off balance.
They ignored it, they denied it, they fought it. But it was relentless in its pursuit, and finally they succumbed to it. It was then it revealed itself. The predator was the unconquerable Alzheimer’s Disease.
The author has written this story as a tribute to the love of her life; it is the author’s hope that this short but meaningful story will give some comfort, support, and insight to those who find themselves in the same situation.
About the Author
Patricia Pereira Lazazzaro. mother of three and grandmother of six, was born in Brooklyn, New York, and lived there for the first twenty-seven years of her life, until she moved to Long Island., with her husband and three children, and built a home. She raised her children there for nineteen years. At that point, she removed herself from an unsuccessful marriage and went out into the world, for the first time, on her own. After two years, she agreed to marry a man she had met years before, who would become the love of her life. This book is about their love and the magical life they shared—a love story that was interrupted by one of the most dreaded predators: Alzheimer’s Disease.
