This book is not for everyone, but for those few who have the desire and courage to seek the dark canyons of their own mind within so as to find their true Self. For those elect 'few', this book may be a great treasure. You will always find help along the Way of this often narrow and cramped path. All you have to do is take the first step into the canyons of your mind, a fearful and daunting task at best.
The Canyon Song is such a journey, taken by a young boy, almost destroyed by abandonment and abuse, as he finds salvation in himself through the love of another.
This is, first of all, a love story, yet one entwined with the need to find the Old Man so as to solve the mystery of the 'cycles and vibrations' threatening to destroy The Project, as well as the writer's need to become 'aware' of what was destroying him as well.
It was necessary to confront The Four Noble Truths, of which Buddha spoke and 'the kingdom within' of which Jesus taught to find the Way of this true identity.
Enjoy the journey, if you are of the 'few' who have the desire and courage to do so. If you elect to take this journey, peace and bliss are guaranteed.

About the Book
The Canyon Song is a story of the four journeys Jonah Stone must take to find his true identity and higher self. In having to find the Old Man, to find the cause of the canyon song that threatens The Project, Jonah Stone must also find the cause of the demons within the canyons of his own mind.
About the Author
Howard Nylander started the journey that produced The Canyon Song over fifty years ago when, as a young boy, he gave up on humanity and vowed to “find God.” He began his career at twelve, working on cattle ranches in Montana, to escape abandonment, beatings with a mean leather whip, and verbal abuse. Paramount in this journey is his wife, his Shiloh, who lovingly showed him the possibilities of other realities. Howard was once told he had the psychological profile of a serial killer, because of what he had experienced in his youth, and had “beaten the odds” by not being institutionalized. In 2003, he had a death experience, no heartbeat, no breath. He had experienced heart failure and a stroke due to Tachy Brady syndrome coupled with sleep apnea. It was then he realized he was not his body; that consciousness continues after death. His current joy is found in studying all ancient scriptures, including the Tao Te Ching with the help of the understanding of Alan Watts, Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, Sufi mystic Hazrat Inayat Khan, and many others. He and his wife of fifty-five years enjoy a quiet life at their little monastery along Middle Creek, deep in the back hills of East Tennessee. They still love to study the old ways, enjoy their motor home, as well as an occasional visit by their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
