Unfolding the Sun

You are a miracle! Your life is a blessing to all who know you and who pass you during your day. You have the capacity to give and receive great love…greater love than any of us have fathomed.
At one time or another, you may have felt broken, lost, robbed of your innocence, different; like you didn’t fit or belong here. You may harbor unforgiveness and bottomless anger. You may feel utterly terrified some of the time and completely alone. You may feel confused, betrayed, victimized, sorrowful, worthless, or just plain stuck.
You are not alone in these feelings. But, we often get stuck here. We often wallow in them and mire ourselves deeper into the muck. Consider taking it a step further. Instead of just feeling the angst and fear and distracting yourself with food, television, electronics, sex, social media, alcohol or anything else, sit quietly and go inside yourself. Notice any body sensations and what you feel, ask yourself/your body what you need to know or what it wants to tell you. And allow yourself to feel it without using any words. We must feel it all in order to heal it. So, please allow yourself the permission to feel, to acknowledge what is there within. Let any tears come. You will not die if you allow yourself to feel the depths of feeling within; but the confusion, worthlessness, grief, sorrow, and sense of betrayal will die… leaving within you, a beautiful bright spaciousness that can then infuse and fill you with joy and happiness in living. Filled with a deliberate and happy passion for Self discovery and allowing the beauty of innocence to rekindle your gorgeous, loving heart.
You ARE the Sun that is unfolding. Let yourself shine!

Dropping Feathers

Soar toward your destiny
with outstretched arms
and let the fear and doubt
fall from you
like worn feathers—

They no longer serve you
and they can no longer
help you to your destination.
They will only slow
and detour you.
Shed what can no longer further you,
then fly freely
in the direction of your dreams.

Gardening

Dig up the rocks
that have weighted
your heart
and bury them elsewhere
with the spade
of forgiveness.

Spiritual Hiking

Please don’t lose your footing.
You felt as if
you were beginning to know
the terrain;
to know where to put your feet
so as not to slip;
to bond with the familiarity of it.
But, as you stand,
the ground shifts with new ideas;
unsettling notions, changed paradigms.
Your thoughts and questions and doubts
fire off in a round
and the kickback
causes your feet to falter,
and you must choose immediately,
to save from falling;
either step backward to regain your balance
or step forward onto the shifted foundation,
and plant your feet solidly
in the midst of the uncertain.

Love Two

Love is neither
afraid nor vengeful.
Love is
courageous and wise.
Love is forgiveness.
Love dominates nothing
but is more powerful
than anything.
Love sees all sides
and brings them together.
Love does not
judge better or best,
not so good, or worst.
It sees the spark
of itself in every being
and allows each
the freedom to ignite it.

Present

Know life.
Listen to the person you’re talking to.

Watch her face,
see her questions before they reach her lips.

Allow her to ask.
Answer.

Be honest.
Be fair.

See the person behind the behavior.
Understand what isn’t said.

Find her eyes and hold them.

Let her know you see her,
see who she is behind what she shows.

Find the good;
build upon it.

Accept that she is gifted in ways you can’t see.
Appreciate the unknown.

Imagine a smile when one can’t be seen.

Know she is more than the shell you see.
Listen to the ocean inside her.

Touch her and feel the Life through your hands.
When your eyes cannot see It, your hands will feel It.

Close your eyes and know.

Know yourself by knowing others.
This is love.

Ascending Circle

Beginning at the end
of my last beginning
I do not look back and grieve,
but look ahead and anticipate.

This ending of all that was
is the beginning of all that
can now be.

Guru

Such a little
Bird…
On such a big
Ledge…
Jumps off and
Flies…
Knowing she’ll soar.

She does it every day,
knowing nothing different.
She lives in faith.
She is my guru.

True Love

The ground gives
of itself
to grow
the beauty
of the fields.
And when it is dry
it yields
to receive
the Love it needs
from the sky.

Bring yourself to life

You want Life to scoop you up
and love you so you can
then embrace it back.

You want life to bring itself to you.
You must bring yourself to life.

You want demonstrations by life
that it wants you,
that it loves you,
while you withhold;
awaiting demonstrations.

You are waiting for life
to include you
while you dis-include yourself
by believing you are not worth
being a part of it.

Choose

No matter how strong
the impulse to follow
the engrained way;
choose the opposite.

Forge your way,
not a way that was
conditioned in you,
and was never yours.
