Although this is not a gigantic book such as Billy Graham’s autobiography, which by the way I so am endeared with… it is a work which leads us by His hand through Prayer, Special Events in Life, People, A Consecrated Place, Living for Jesus, Unconditional Love, World a Stage?, God’s mindset, Changes as we Ponder, On Being Able, Strength/Faith, Going On, Takes what?, Maladies and Thanks, Blessed Ruler, Silence, and Service.
This work is a serious attempt at allowing the reader to view some of my personal memories of life, to learn more about our Master and Friend, and to find out that you, too, are able and capable of doing anything—as long as you realize He is always near. There are no smoke and mirrors with Father. Oh, yeah… I know you can read about smoke in several places, but you understand what I am saying about His transparency, His awesomeness, His essence: love, that He is the Alpha and Omega… the One Who knew you even before your momma did.
He knows us so well—and I often say this when presenting our HOPE FOR ALZHEIMER’s presentations in and around the Virginia area, and sometimes out of state: He knew every twist and bend in your road, what stones would be in your
pathway, and whether or not the wind would be at your back or that life would be a constant struggle for you.
And Love? As far as love goes… it is the very essence of a Loving Father Who created you to have a wonderfully abundant life. Oh, yes… there are days when we’re down and days when we’re up. Sometimes we make a few bad choices. But when you get right down to it… life’s not such a terrible ordeal, is it? I know as long as my Relationship with Him is strong there is nothing that can take me down, until He signals it is time….
It may be that I am making a mistake again, by not seeking endorsements from famous people, and not bothering to get remarks from this newspaper or that institution or … but it is because I trust in Him so much. It is my true hope that this compilation (referring to several different authors and other sources) did not drive you completely nuts, but perhaps you can recall that I am in my eighth year with dementia. And it’s not always a picnic- on-the-green-grass sort of life.
