The story teller smiled. " My story today is a tale of beginnings, she said.
Now in the very beginning of things, before time began, before the stars decorated the night-time sky, before the bright sun traveled across the day-time sky, there was the darkness and the deep silence called The Void. It was a comfortable darkness. It was safe. It was a good place to rest and awaken.
Within The Void was a Presence. Some might say that this Presence was very small, smaller than a grain of sand or a tiny speck of dust. Inside of Its Self this wonderful Presence did not feel small at all. It felt HUGE and UNLIMITED. It felt full of possibilities and miracles just waiting to come forth. Most of all this Presence felt full of LOVE. The Presence made a decision to share, to Become all of the Love and Miracles waiting to be born within IT.
Suddenly a great burst of LOVE exploded out from the center of The Void, sending wave upon wave of loving energy rolling outward. Within the darkness a glow appeared, then a burst of brilliant white light. The light traveled out from its source in waves and circles. The darkness of The Void began to shiver and vibrate. Then like ripples on water, the waves of light faded until there was one bright spark of light resting like a jewel on a piece of black velvet .
From that One Light there came into the darkness many other lights moving out across the velvet blackness. These points of light became spinning suns, stars, and clouds of light.
The One Presence gave Itself a name.... a deep sound that rolled across the New Creation, OOOOHHMMM, I AM ALL THAT IS. I AM THE BEGINNING AND THE END.
The Creator, The One Presence rested, admiring the contrast between the pure darkness and the shining lights. The Creator was pleased with the Light of Creation and called it GOOD.

It presents a story that provides some answers and some new possibilities to talk about. Each of the tales is structured so that it can be read in a simple form to younger children or in its complete form to older children.
Beginning with the initial appearance of light, and moving through the birth of the physical universe, the birth of the Creator’s family, and the adventures of the Creator’s children as they explore the universe, Tales of Our Beginnings tells how we came to be physical beings on this planet Earth. Children and adult readers will come away with the understanding that we are all powerful beings living in a supportive and loving universe.
About the Author
Penny attended San Antonio Community College’s Child Development Program. She spent fifteen years working with children in public schools and in daycare in both Texas and Virginia. Later, she obtained a bachelor’s degree in metaphysics and counseling. Penny has a Level II Reiki certification. She has facilitated classes and given talks on spiritual growth, health, and personal empowerment for many years. Penny lives in Montvale, Virginia, with her husband, their cat, Orb, their dogs, her crystal collection, and her favorite books.
