The Place

About the Book

The five abused kids ventured our into "The Place" never to live in the outside world again. Only Jello's little sister ever lived outside of the place afterward. A big Indian and his son lived out there hidden from the world. He had kidnapped the boy, when he was five. No one could find their way in or out of this Place unassisted. In the early 40's no one cared of had given these children much help or support.

About the Author

Veda Garrick, an Oklahoma native, attended Douglass High School, Duncan High School, and Jack Yates High School, Houston, Texas. She attended Cameron University, Lawton, Oklahoma, with a double major in psychology and sociology. She worked at youth services for Stephens County as a family counselor. She is the widow of a serviceman with the US Army. She has three children and three grandchildren.
