About the Book

Set on a muti-generational family farm, the story follows a child learning from Grandma how cows now graze where buffalo once roamed, how rivers stay clean and how healthy soil full of worms and tiny life helps everything to grow. The meaning of regenerative agriculture is improving soil health, rather than sustainable agriculture which means maintaining soil health. We need to be improving the soil as plants, animals and humans continue to use the land and water. Through the changing seasons, the book introduces young readers to the idea that caring for the land helps the land care for us. The story weaves together themes of family, nature and regenerative farming in a warm, accessible way for preschool and school age audiences.
