About the Book
These selected poems and letters were written in moments of great gratitude for the things I have gone through and now being on the other side of great heart ache and setbacks I have faced in my life so far. I now actively choose to see all the good within my life and how far I have come from the dark places I used to be. This is a testament to myself that I have gotten through adversity within my life and I will continue to do so as I grow and evolve as a young adult. We are all on different paths on our healing journey but then again we don’t have to be constantly “on” to heal. We can sit back, enjoy the present and make actions that allow us to move forward to a life that we will eventually be proud of. These poems are written for myself first but are also for individuals who have held themselves in periods where they felt like they had no support network or community to fall back on. The individuals that keep going despite all the things they carry even when they are heavy. It is critical to note that even though we may be able to carry these things it doesn’t mean we have to carry them alone. I hope you meet people that make you realise your own worth and radiate the happiness that you now carry with a new hope for the future. I am still working to meet those people in my life at the moment but I have no doubt that I will find them. Each of these poems are a piece of my heart during the process of my healing journey. I hope that they inspire you and feel like a hug when you need it the most.
About the Author
The author is a 21 year old writer whose work delves into the raw and complex emotions of love, loss and heartbreak. Writing has been her way of processing the world since her teenage years. Her words are honest, vulnerable, and deeply human, capturing the often messy, beautiful truths that come with emotional connection. Drawing from personal experience and the stories of those around her, she writes to remind others that they are not alone. Through poetry, her work speaks to the hearts of those who are navigating the highs and lows of life, the pain of letting go, and the slow process of healing. In every piece, she seeks to express emotion but to also create space for reflection and understanding.
