Preface I was a sensitive, introspective child, who always pondered the meaning of life. My own personal conclusion is that life is a journey meant to teach us lessons. Through our successes and failures, we learn to create our own heaven on earth. Since my youth, my belief has been that life is precious, and we should make the most of every second of it. Both my family and my parochial education supported the foundation for my spiritual views. I believe there is no such thing as coincidences. During the years of my formal, medical education, life offered me the opportunity to gain more mystical knowledge. I had the benefit of simultaneously exploring both scientific and spiritual matters. I view science and spirituality as two sides of the same coin. One cannot be acknowledged without the other. Both are equally necessary to create a well-balanced life. When entering medical school, I was fascinated with the learnings of the mind and everything related to it. My exposure to spirituality allowed me to explore the depths of humanity and life's purpose. I will admit that I enjoyed temporarily putting down my medical books to find comfort and support by reading self-help books, many by Hay House and Balboa Press. These self-help and spiritually based books taught me practical ways to find the missing pieces to the puzzle of life. They taught me how to create my own life fulfillment, even when life was tough and not particularly joyful. At the completion of my medical internship and residency, I was also drawn to learning the metaphysical practices of healing, such as Reiki, and several other energy healing modalities. As I began my career as a physician and psychiatrist, I continued to be inspired by the spiritual arts. I believe that it adds a greater dimension of wisdom to my traditional psychiatric practice. Many years later, completing my shamanic apprenticeship provided me a different perspective of life, by gaining more knowledge about the spirit world. It created a hunger within me to share practical knowledge about the secrets of life. I am tickled to write my own book. I want to share, not just my formally gained medical and spiritual knowledge, but also the many blunders that I made in life. My personal mistakes were some of my greatest teachers. My failures have shown me how to reinvent my opportunities for joy and happiness. Thank you for allowing me to share my many wonders and blunders with you. I can only hope that this book will enable you to reflect on your own personal life journey and help you to recognize that every error and success had great meaning in shaping who you are today and what your lives are to become.

About the Book
As she began her career as a physician and psychiatrist, Dr. Leslie Madrak was drawn to learning the metaphysical practices of healing, such as Reiki and several other energy healing modalities. She found that the spiritual arts added a dimension of wisdom to traditional psychiatry. Years later, having completed her shamanic apprenticeship, she found herself equipped with practical knowledge that revealed the secrets to excel in life. While she does not practice witchcraft or pull rabbits out of a hat, she has an uncanny ability to make things happen. In this book, she shares the lessons she’s learned as a physician and magician. They revolve around twenty tenets, including: • do something you love, and become really good at it; • invest money to create passive income; • eat whole foods with plenty of fruits and vegetables; • start a gratitude journal. About the Author
Dr. Leslie Madrak completed her medical training in 1997 at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her internship and residency training at University of Medicine and Dentistry—School of Osteopathic Medicine (now Virtua-Rowan SOM) in general psychiatry in 2001. She is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry and served as a board member. She was board certified by the American Board of Integrative and Holistic Medicine. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Addiction Medicine and has received certification in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy and nutritional psychiatry by the Integrative Psychiatry Institute. She served as an assistant professor and medical director for a number of hospital systems and outpatient facilities. She was named one of the “Top Physicians of Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine” by South Jersey Magazine in 2005 and 2018 and “Top Female Doctors-One of Medicine’s Best and Brightest Women” by SJ Magazine in 2019. She is trained in several energy healing modalities and became a Reiki master, associate Pranic healer, Arcturian healing method practitioner, and animal energy healing practitioner. She completed a shamanic practitioner apprenticeship and received the Munay Ki initiation rites. She received certification in Sandra Anne Taylor quantum coaching and is a certified Infinite Possibilities trainer by Mike Dooley.
