One day, Reverend Justin brought a famous psychic medium, Mark Anthony, to the church to do a large group reading. Mark Anthony explained how he worked, and that he would mention something about your loved one who has passed. So he asked anyone who had a loved one who had passed to stand up. At the time, three people stood. The first was of a person who had passed away in a motorcycle accident. The next one was about a young man who had committed suicide, delivering a message of apology to his family, along with an explanation of how he was affiliated with gangs who would have come after them had he made a different choice. And as soon as he finishes delivering that message, he begins yelling, “Pam! Pamela! Pammie?!” I stood up, and yep. I was the only Pam. He began channeling my grandmother, Dotty, who had come to deliver a message about Braeme. As he channeled, Mark held his back and said, “I feel pain.” I confirmed that Braeme had pancreatic cancer. And he shared that my grandmother Dotty was telling me to be there with him until the end. In that moment, I knew I wasn't alone on this impossible journey - and somehow, I never would be. Mark's message hit me hard. It was one of those moments when you just know something is deeply significant. And this is also when I realized that my grandmother’s messages weren’t just comforting; they were real insights that were guiding me and helping me to navigate what would soon be the most challenging time of my life. As the months went on, my connection to Braeme—especially after his passing—deepened. Even though he had left this physical realm, I could still feel his energy with me–undoubtedly. It was as though his spirit had not truly left. There were moments, particularly with our dog Meggie, when I felt his presence strongly. She would often bring me a toy that had once belonged to him in the middle of the night—almost as if she were carrying a message from him. And then, when I would be having a struggle with one of our boys, suddenly, the song that played at our wedding would come on the radio. These subtle nudges of support from Braeme gave me the courage to keep going. Which I needed, especially on the hardest days. So, it was during this time that I began to realize just how interconnected our physical lives are with the spirit realm. Because the energy of the people we love doesn’t disappear when they pass. They stay with us. Although they may leave their physical bodies behind, their essence—along with our connections to them—remains. And sometimes, those connections offer us the greatest healing and insight exactly when we need them most.
