A Passage from Monks Hymn Your initial hesitation and nervousness have melted away. All the thoughts of not being good enough have dissipated. Your musical-spiritual partner has made you feel comfortable and confident. You will dynamically close this show together as a team. He sends you waves of admiration from his mind and heart unto yours. Through your collaboration, you capture the beats he foresees you to play. As you repeatedly let go and feel the merge with the monk, you progressively get better and know you are capable of flawlessness. You feel your hands getting faster. The monk is chanting louder and more intentionally. You look down. Your hands are so swift that everything is blurry. The lightning speed at which you are delivering sound skews the definition of your digits. Your hands become one with the drums. Your every hit matches every note of his voice and every note of his voice connects to every nerve ending in your fingertips. Your spirits are intertwined through the frequencies. The audience remains silent, mindful, and motionless. You can feel that they are in a state of reverence. As the mantra ends, your timing exceeds anything you have ever played. Your belief in yourself supported by the monk's belief in your ability strengthens your technique. After the performance concludes everyone in the audience explodes in an uproar of exuberance. They applaud, they whistle, they scream. You feel all the positive energy radiate through your body. The audience’s reaction is full of pure love for the two of you. You both glow with admiration for one another. Now that the show has ended, the audience begins to leave, the musicians begin to pack up, and all of the close family, friends, and fans come onto the stage to congratulate their loved ones. Everyone is rejoicing and you can feel yourself illuminate.
