About the Book

Hawk Feather is a Spiritual/Indigenous tale of a young girls’ path of discovery about her connection to the earth, nature, spirit, her community and ancestry. Hawk Feathers’ courage and wisdom is illuminated as she discovers a potentially threatening disturbance in the local environment and takes on a vital role in eliminating the threat. Hawk Feather takes children on a journey through nature, her indigenous heritage and into the spirit world, invoking the imagination and inducing empowerment in the reader.

About the Author

Kate has had over 25 years as an Early Childhood Teacher and Lecturer in Australia, her passion and main interests have always been early childhood literature, the developing of children’s creative thought and encouraging them to reach beyond their current experiences through the world of imagination. Kate has a Masters Degree in Education and holds a deep interest in metaphysics, indigenous spirituality and esoteric themes.
