Stardust and Magical Things

Right at that moment, when I was at my lowest, I somehow found strength to look into my heart and see I had a choice. And at that moment I made a decision that would stick with me, a decision that I could not take back, a decision I could not turn away from. I decided to choose joy. I decided to choose a life of appreciation and gratitude. I decided to choose to live with an open heart. I decided that I would no longer look back but forge my own path. And once I made this choice, I felt something long forgotten stir inside me. I had invited the magic back into my life. I had started to crack my heart open to a life of wonder and endless possibilities, a life of joy and love. For the first time in years, I looked at the mirror and knew the woman who was looking back at me. Deep in my heart I believe everyone has the ability to discover this magic inside them. Somewhere along on the road to adulthood, I lost the sense of wonder, the curiosity, the innocence, the ability to open my heart to the world around me with unconditional love and joy. I lost the ability to find the magic in everything around me, no matter how small or ordinary. I had lost these abilities, and I also forgot how to look at the world with wonder and curiosity, with an open, nonjudgmental mind. I had stopped believing in the magic I have in my heart. I had forgotten how to purely and unconditionally have trust and faith, without doubts and without limits, without second-guessing, and without control. With losing all that, I lost parts of myself. I love you, my little girl. You are safe and protected in my heart. You can let go of all that is holding you back. You are full of magic that can no longer be hidden. Show the world who you are. We, humans, are so unique and full of magic, we carry the universe within us. To know ourselves is as complicated as uncovering all the secrets of the universe—and then some. We never stop changing. As we go through life, we learn, we grow, we are shaped by our experiences, and we have setbacks and breakthroughs. The person I was yesterday is not the person I am today. It takes a second, a single moment, something so intangible as a split-second decision, a choice for us to change. Knowing ourselves thoroughly and completely becomes an everlasting game, at times satisfying and at times daunting and overwhelming, a task infinite in its nature. Our hearts are meant to heal. Our hearts know all the answers. Our hearts hold the magic to find the answers to what they still don’t know. When we accept that, our tasks become one bit smaller. Our task becomes to quiet our minds just enough so that we are able to hear our hearts.
