The Tide Is Changing
The tide is changing
Hold on my heart
New times are coming
New rhythms are shaping
of love,
More gentleness will come
A new consciousness
Here and there
The dawning
Is obviously forming
Shaping, responding
To impetus unseen
Set by a bigger heart
but also by our own.
So celebrate my heart
Rejoice in the challenge of being a part
of such a great task
Of the light dawning on Earth
As it dawns in you.

When vibrations of fear
cancel out love
and greed prevails
from insecurity born
we lose our purpose
and our part here

Silence
I love the silence
which is accompanied
by fulfillment within
there is a timelessness
in the blessing
a place in the resting
of eternity
and love is the feeling
but quiet from emotion
Just fullness
In stillness
Peace

Let us grow
a beautiful flower
out of the dung heap
of our present
world situation

About the Book
“Poetry contains the quietness and concentration of the one who writes it. It is a shared personal moment that often expresses deep feeling and this is transferred to the reader. It comes from the heart and as I heard someone say on World Poetry Day in Athens, “Poetry comes in through the same door that prayer does.” -Athena Marini
Much of the poetry in this book came out during a six-week period where the author isolated herself for 6 weeks. It was a difficult period in which she experienced much grief and all the gamut of emotions that go with it. It was during the end of this time when some healing had occurred, that a lot of this poetry came out.
Her poetry has a spiritual theme as it has arisen from her personal effort to walk the inner path with all its inspirational interludes and experiences but also the frustrations of trying to balance the inner needs in a world where the externals demand our attention most of the time.
About the Author
Athena Marini was born in Greece but grew up in Australia. She holds a postgraduate degree, “Bachelor of Education” from Latrobe University in Melbourne and a “Diploma in Health Sciences and Holistic Kinesiology".
From an early age, her quest for the meaning in life led her to travel long, living and working in various countries including an overland journey to India in 1970, which proved significant.
A spiritual theme runs through her poetry as it has arisen out of her personal effort to live a spiritual life in a world where so much focus is placed on the external aspects of life.
Athena now lives in Greece. She has had a book published in the Greek language on gut health and has co-authored “THE DELPHIC ORACLE CARDS” – a deck of cards and a booklet, available in both Greek and English.
