Happiness: A Choice

What is happiness? What is it that pushes us forward every moment? What is it that we want most in life? It all seems to come down to happiness, that feeling that in this nanosecond, all is well. It is a satisfaction, a peacefulness and joy that is deeply comforting and enriching. Though often we find it temporary or fleeting, especially when we have tied it to something external to us, it can be a more fully, lasting experience than most of us realize. Happiness is an inside job. Lasting happiness is a result of the willingness to understand the connection between perception, projection and feelings. Then, to have the willingness to seek help when we need it. This simple formula guarantees the results we desire, and is rarely sustainably practiced. Instead, we routinely practice old habits, based in ego fear, that cannot produce the happiness for which we yearn. Understanding our misguided ways and courageously creating new habits that serve our happiness, are the keys to the change we want. It seems daunting but actually it can be quite possible, easy, and exhilarating when we look at it as a one-thought-at-a- time project. We build a new internal programming by asking for the shift of one misperception at a time. Just one. The little satisfaction that comes with amending one misperception is very motivating and leads to doing it again! The success with that one, leads to repeating the process with the next one and it builds change in habit. We can all do that.
