Why are we always influenced by circumstances, and why do we subsequently fall into negative emotional states? Can life be autonomous and not be affected by external circumstances?
According to the Buddha:
There is only one Bodhi path, for the purification of beings, for the overcoming of worry and sorrow, for the eliminating of all kinds of distress, and for the gaining of the true Dharma, that is, the Four Foundations of Mindfulness.
