Opening page text to Peter’s Day

A gentle summer breeze blew through the window across Peter sleeping peacefully.

Outside the birds tweeted, chattered and flitted around in the red gum trees, announcing the sun as it peeked over the tree tops.

Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding!

“Ahhhhh!”
shouted Peter, woken by his bedside alarm clock.
“Paul!”
he exclaimed, annoyed that his brother had set the clock to wake him up and it wasn’t even a school day!

Peter stretched his arms and looked out his bedroom window.
“Yesssss!” he said to himself quietly as he looked out across his yard and into the paddocks. Paddocks that were covered in sheep with the odd kangaroo here and there. This day was beautifully soaked in blue sky and sunshine, a great day to spend outdoors exploring.

Look out for the next book in the Farmbridge Station Series as our favourite characters Peter, Tom & Paul go exploring

Farmbridge Station - The Cave

Tom led the way climbing over the bolder that lay at the entrance. Ben followed next, then Peter.
Making their way scrambling, climbing over and walking round a few more boulders. They stepped down one by one off the last onto the cave floor.  They all could see the light from the entrance but the cave was dark. Tom turned his touch on first shining it around.

“Aaaaah, shouted Ben.  “Aaaaah,” Screamed Peter.

About the Author

Farmbridge Station: Peter’s day is the first book in the series of 7 children’s fiction adventure books for new author Gareth. Who also designs and illustrates these books.

Born in England immigrated to Australia with his mother and sister when he was 4 years old. Loves the great outdoors of Australia. Did all the things that kids do growing up dreaming of new adventures and games to play.

Back in the days when there were no computers, internet, mobile phones or Facebook. Loved to spend time with his friend Ricky on the farm in Tailem Bend South Australia. They were some of the best days. Even if it meant cleaning out cattle water troughs, fix fences with Aunty Kay to cleaning out the chicken coup with Ricky. Rounding up sheep putting them through sheep dip to earn a few dollars to spend at the local Cook Plains store.

The Farmhouse and Cooks Plains are still there today but divided by the Dukes Highway.

As an adult, he spent over 3 years living on a small 26-acre farm in Mt Torrens South Australia with his family as a live-in caretaker looking after a few beef cattle and yes fixing fences and cleaning water troughs watching out for the local resident black and brown snakes. While working as a Graphic Designer for The Mitchel Ad Agency in Woodside.

But times change, he now works as a Freelance Graphic Digital designer and writing children’s books from home something that he has always wanted to do.

Has worked in the Advertising and Marketing industry now for over 38 years.

Seeing his first authors copy of his book was one of the bests days of his life. Even if the postie delivering the parcel the book played a game with him, “Are you sure that’s you” he said with a smile on his face. As he knew he was anxious to have and open it.

From Gareth: “Hope you all enjoy reading the books as I am enjoyed writing and illustrating them.
