About the Author

Natasha Jennings has a background in both psychiatric nursing and teaching. She resides in Napier, New Zealand where she now writes from home. This is her second published book, her first being a novel 'Beautiful Me', a journal of a teenage girl with anorexia.

Raw and powerful, these fictional stories cover the hard subjects in life - grief, body image issues, sexual abuse, eating disorders, infidelity, relationship issues etc. Make sure you have your tissues close by – you are in for an emotional ride! My personal favourites? ‘A blue sky’ (award winning short story and the source of the book title). A deeply moving and affecting story written in the voice of a young child. This is beautifully written – incredibly raw, emotional, and shocking – this is a story that will stay with you always. ‘Fish’, a teenager talking about his struggles in life – family, finding (and keeping) a job, and girls. Inter-twined is his fractured memories of his mum, who died when he was young. Some great humour here, coupled with sadness as his memories slowly start to surface. ‘The hungry ape’ – a woman talking about her struggles with food, diets and weight issues that have plagued her throughout her life. 16 fabulous stories that you will love.
