The Transparent Whore

All of us have moments of absolute clarity, when a light bulb goes off inside our head. These moments are the ones we don't forget-we can't forget. These moments tend to hit us, wake us, break us, and reshape us. We need them. They create our testimonies and increase our relatability. They are how we connect to other people. They give us awareness. They help us address old limiting beliefs and re-write parts of us that were programmed by others. These moments help us discover our personal TRUTH. They are gifts, not punishments. Each event we experience is an opportunity for our souls to awaken. My pivotal events of clarity have hit me hard, woken me up, broken me down, and re-shaped me. Through it all, I have found my voice, my truth, and my spiritual foundation. I have set boundaries and learned to love myself, value myself, and say "No." My shakedowns were hard. They hurt, and they made me realize how strong I am and how each day I live is a reflection of me and nobody else. My soul awoke along the way. These opportunities taught me that life is a practice, that being present and not perfect is true "being." I learned how to be gentle on myself. I learned how to have allowance and acceptance for others. I learned to be slow to criticize and quick to give a hug. I see now that to practice love and kindness, to forgive easily, and to love unconditionally are the ultimate goals. The following chapters consist of the pain and suffering that resulted in huge amounts of awareness. I am grateful for the suffering. I offer you an intimate window into the hardships I have experienced, wisdom from my journey, faith from my practice, and guidance to perhaps help you along your way-or maybe just an insightful personal testimony that brings you closer to your own inner personal acceptance.
