It is an awe inspiring sight to see Denali and her 2 sister peaks in all their glory, and so blessed to still have eyesight and witness such beauty. The mountains are behind the Alaskan mountain range and another range, but at 14000, 17000 and 20000 ft, they're towering on the landscape and all covered in snow. Wow! I'm seeing Denali my way, camping on a riverbed between two rivers that flow off her, ice cold, fast running and all for free! Plus there's the coolest, hip town you've ever seen only 2 minutes walk off the riverbed. Pot shop next door, fine restaurants, bars playing blues and various other bands. Neat shops, very quaint and very small. I am at Talkeetna, Alaska, half way between Fairbanks and Anchorage. Locals along the way told me about this "out of the way" and super cool town of phenomenal beauty.........

About the Book
Denali, Alaska, was on a friend’s bucket list for his sixty-fifth year, and the author came along for the ride. His son sealed the deal by gifting him an Arai helmet for the Alaska-or-Bust journey. So, with a pat on the back from his Mayo Clinic doctors and toting ninety days of Wellbutrin, Lamictal, and Latanaprost in the saddlebags of his very heavily laden 2011 Heritage Softail Harley Davidson, he motored off as the third wheel. The bust occurred in Dodge City due to incompatibility with time, but Joe continued and made the trip his own in a wild and wonderful way. This is the journal and adventure of a crazy 60 year old, riding his Harley and camping with only a Rand McNally road atlas and a go-pay phone - 77 days @ 17,520 miles.
About the Author
Joe was a USAF and FAA Air Traffic Controller who lives in Florida with his wife of 37 years, 3 dogs and a horse named Dante who keep him sane. His loves are his 3 grown children and 2 grand babies. His hobbies are more of a “must for life”, riding his Harley, exercising and walking the beach. He would include dancing, but his kids say it’s difficult to watch.
