Find Thy-Self O' Man O' Woman Awake or not to knowledge of what consciousness is as awareness in you knowing by nature in out around yearning to merge into its own Self. How to see with eyes of Heart, inner eyes that see clear in darkness needing not light but by wisdom knowing. Tamper not with dark ways as the lost ones of ages past; rather be Love, Peace, Content with Dark guided by Brothers of Light holding All to Truth! From Illumination of the One: I am asking you to consider the meaning of Transcendence and Transcendental Reality in a rational and conceptual way. This, of course, as a Point out of which all Creation emerges is also intimately linked to the Reality of Intrinsic Unity or the Oneness of All. For us even to consider this, we must relax a bit our conceptual minds from the more materialistic tendencies of our time and be willing to think metaphysically, if I dare to say it in that way. By that I mean, to consider a concept outside the stricter boundaries of material form and to recognize that a concept can be non-material and therefore not subject to the limitations and even laws, if you will, of physical nature. Once we get beyond that boundary of material thinking, I feel that we open a mental eye towards the liberating Reality of far greater possibilities and even to that inclination towards infinity as a cognizable Reality. Thus, opening the doorway to the Awakening of the mind to an increasing familiarity to an Awareness of Infinity as an underlying Truth and tangible meaningful Pure Existence.

About the Book
The volume you are holding is a combination of two works. Poems of the Ignited Heart is a series of 54 sonnets that powerfully relate Consciousness to mental health. They each convey a powerful image given to the author at a deep core level that painted themselves upon the page in precise words. Taken together they present a dynamic portrait of the evolution of individuals and humanity. Illumination of the One, is a vital sequel to his first book, A Science of Consciousness, which focuses on Oneness as a living reality. This book includes a series of 6 visualization exercises, meant to be used in conjunction with the text, to promote an experience for the reader of this sacred insight.
About the Author
Shiva C.A.D. Shankaran has been a dedicated practitioner and teacher of yoga and meditation for over 45 years. He completed his Master of Arts degree in Religious Education/Pastoral Counseling at Fordham University in 1984. Prior to that a BA in English Literature with an extensive background in Western and Vedic philosophy from various schools. He has worked in mental health in clinical settings and in spiritual counseling as a private practice for many years. He currently resides in Vermont.
