Releasing Limiting Beliefs to Reveal Your Authentic Self

“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.” Rumi
Most of us go through life unbelieving. We’re programmed that way, with echoes and messages of “not enough” throughout our day. Buy this makeup because you’re not pretty enough without it. Try this weight loss product because thinner is better. Get this toy for your kids or you’re the worst parent ever. By implication of get this, do that, want more, we’re told over and over and over again: not enough. You’re not enough, so do more, be more, and then somehow eventually you’ll make it.
These become truths we hold onto – shifting off of what’s real into what we fear, and collecting evidence along the way that proves these fears were right. Because we’ll always find a way to prove the wrong stuff is true, and the hurt we self-inflict from our fears only serves to take us off of our base, our center, our truth.
In yoga, we teachers talk about the midline, the center of the body, as a cue to engage the core. But I also like to think of it as a prime meridian, a center line of truth. Stray from the center, and you’ll lose your balance, just as you would in your physical body. Engage the core – the essence of you – and you’ll find your truth, your way.
It’s not easy though, because everyone has a little trauma in their lives, big or small. People often like to engage in trauma relativity: it isn’t as bad as being a genocide victim in Rwanda, so it’s not a big deal. But invalidating and moving away from trauma, from feeling and acknowledging that something was traumatic for YOU, just serves to move you off of your midline.
This book is all the magic, wisdom, hard work, teachings, lessons, study, heartache, tears, and so many life lessons, to help you understand what’s holding you back from finding your authenticity, what’s keeping you from the truth of you who are. It’s about using a variety of tools and methods to break through so you find and believe in yourself, to shed old traumas and fears and find your best you.
There are miracles all around if we have the eyes to see them, and to BELIEVE.
BELIEVE is an exercise in trust and surrender, letting go of limiting beliefs that hold us back and replacing them with beautiful affirming truths of who we are.
BELIEVE is about self-awareness, self-understanding, and self-actualization.
Believe is about uncovering the truths that
—you are enough;
—you are infinite, eternal, and whole;
—you aren’t an accident;
—you are divinely guided; and
—the answers are within you.
BELIEVE embraces movements to release traumas, lies, and limitations in the body and get past coping and stories we tell ourselves. It uncovers truth, hope, and unwavering belief in ourselves, in others, and in the divine.
BELIEVE is an exercise in letting go but also in finding—replacing fear with hope and despair with joy.
BELIEVE gives you tools to help you transform into who you are meant to be.
