It was a bright sunny morning in eastern Oregon. Maddie looked up to the sky blinking her big brown eyes and wagging her pink tail. The wispy clouds moving across the sky reminded Maddie of pink and blue cotton candy. “Bonjour clouds.” Maddie was practicing her French. Madeline Mae or Maddie is a white standard poodle that longed for the excitement of living in a chateau in the French countryside. She was a poodle with a purpose. Maddie dreamed of traveling the world spreading love to all people she met. Her first stop would be France. Maddie imagined meeting Andre, a black standard poodle that she saw at the Farmer’s Market, falling in love and eating French baguettes as they strolled along the French countryside blogging about the different French pastry they tried.

About the Author
Karen Nicksich is a dedicated and talented writer with a keen eye for developing stories that inspire and encourage young readers to come to love reading. Karen was a teacher for almost thirty-five years. She attended college in Colorado and holds a gifted and talented education endorsement. She grew up in Upstate New York. Currently, Karen is living in Richland, Washington, with her husband John; son, William; daughter, Rachel; and their two dogs, Maddie and Oddie. When Karen is not writing, she volunteers for Love on a Leash with Maddie, a therapy dog. This is the third book Karen has written about dogs. Her first book is The Time of My Life, and the second is Life Lessons of a Rescue Dog.
