MOST OF US CAN RECALL THAT AS CHILDREN, WE WERE WARNED OF POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS PRACTICES:
We were advised not to pet strange dogs . . .
to avoid touching a hot stove . . .
not to run with scissors . . .
never to take candy from a stranger . . .
to put nothing smaller than our elbow in our ears . . .
to look both ways before crossing a street . . .
Later, when we were able to read,
we found that many products contained warning labels . . .
smoking could cause a host of health problems . . .
household cleaning supplies were toxic or even poisonous . . .
most medicines came with possible adverse side effects . . .
we shouldn’t drink and drive . . .
tanning booths could result in cancer . . .
the list is seemingly without end.
However, there is one warning I’ve never heard or read about . . .
one that, if articulated or written, could have prevented me from some horrific experiences.
This book is that warning. I pray that you, the reader will heed it.
