This book is written for you, whomever you may be. I have been told that someone has been waiting for this, and I am glad to bring it to you. There are lots of books about spiritual growth, about the law of attraction, and self-improvement. So yes this is another one of those books. This book however, was created to be quick and easy to read. It is full of real world examples which makes it make sense.
Our story… the one that we tell ourselves, is what makes our life seem happy or sad. When things go wrong, most of us think about the things that we… don’t want. Have you had the thought…”Life sucks;” Do you sometimes hear yourself saying “I just can’t catch a break;” or “Why is this happening to me”? These types of thoughts jump in our head often and most of the time we don’t even notice they are there until we notice we are feeling bad. The problem is these thoughts are so strong we keep thinking them over, and over, and over again. (Which is exactly what we do NOT want.)
It is my intention that after reading this book, you will become more aware of your thoughts and you will then start becoming more intentional about the things you allow yourself to spend time thinking about. The ultimate goal is for us all to be living our lives with balanced abundance.
In this book, I give examples from my life of how my thinking created a certain reality in my life. These examples (like the one on the next line) will be in Italics throughout the book.
It was fall and the weather was changing; hot one day and cold the next. One morning, I woke up and I felt my head and body aching, I was sneezing and heard myself saying “I really don’t feel well, I am getting sick.” As I said it, I felt worse. The pressure was just getting to me. I heard myself say that and I tried to stop that thought, but I kept paying attention to that sick feeling and found those words jumping out of my mouth once again.
That is the way thoughts work. They often just appear before we recognize what we are thinking. FYI: It took quite a bit of vigilance, but I stopped that broken record, and I started to feel better.
When we are in that place and something doesn’t go our way, the thoughts that are in our head often include the question “Why?” I have often told my clients that when you ask the question “why” only two things can happen… I then tell them look at the letter Y. When you ask why, just like the letter, only two things can happen. Either you will get stuck, like in the pointed part of the letter, (V) or you fall (I) down into the never ending cycle of questions, that often also…don’t have an answer. I know we all do it, but asking why is never going to get you anywhere, especially when you are talking about why things turned out a certain way, or why someone feels that way, or why they did something. Asking why hardly ever gives you answers you want and almost always brings more frustration; it starts the thinking train in your head. The energy that we put into these endless questions, and the worrying, only gets us… tired, depressed and/or anxious… AND… it brings more of what we DON’T want.
