This book is written to help guide, educate and promote healthy relationships with those in recovery. Those in recovery are anyone that has, or are connected with someone working on their own recovery from addictions.
For many years I was not aware how much my childhood impacted my life from growing up in a substance abuse family. When I started attending college taking psychology and counseling classes I realized how much substance abuse did affect and impacted all areas of my life, my relationships, and my own issues with trust. I started in the addictions field because my father was an alcoholic and a prescription abuser. I wanted to make a difference in just one person’s life. I knew if one person would make a change that could impact many people. One person can have such a ripple affect into many others life. It really is true one person makes a difference.

Addiction has touched many people in their relationships. There are many relationships that have ended due to substance use. Many people are trying to stay connected yet are not aware of the addictions process and its impact on life. Charlene Louise McPherson has worked in the addictions field for over twenty-four years. She grew up in a family of addictions and went to college for her counseling degree. Her focus is a holistic approach in physical, mental, and spiritual health.
