It is my heartfelt desire that this book will be of some help to those who read it. This book has been years in the making because through the years I have learned so much more of the real meaning of forgiveness. There are many paths to forgiveness, as many as there are people. But no matter which path you take, it will be by the heart and not by the mind that you find it. For forgiveness is so much deeper and more expansive than we think. We are so caught up in our minds that we tend to believe that forgiveness occurs on the conscious mental level. But really it reaches so much deeper—it resides in the heart and soul. This book is written from my own experience of finding deep peace in my life through forgiveness. It is my hope and prayer that I can help you find within yourself this wonderful place of forgiveness, so you will know the difference forgiveness can make in the way you see and feel about things in your life. It is a great gift, and only a few have really found it. I will try to walk you through all my experience to help you come to a better understanding of what forgiveness really means. What is being said here has been said many times before by different writers at different times in different ways. It is being said here by someone who has experienced it maybe in a different way, and wishes to share this with you. Maybe hearing it a little differently as I tell you of my own experiences will be the way you need to receive it. There may be “nothing new under the sun,” yet we awaken to new things every day. We feel these realizations are new because they are new to us. Walk with me through these pages and let me help you open your heart to this glorious experience.
Forgiveness has many layers and levels, and all are important and needed to live a good life. Perhaps the deepest level touches the soul. It takes a long time to comprehend the vast scope of what it means to forgive, and I am still learning that through this beautiful gift still more depths of meaning can be revealed. The subjects I will be covering are doorways by which we can open to new understandings and changes in our lives, ones that helped me to gain a greater appreciation for life and what it has to offer towards spiritual growth and happiness.
I have been blessed to have had a relationship with spirit all my life. When I was young I was brought up believing in Christ, and that continues to this day. Later in life I met my Sufi teacher, Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan, who brought me closer to the Christ and introduced me to the masters, saints, and prophets of all the great religions. I learned that each great teacher is distinct, and yet they are all one. It is such a great privilege to know about these wonderful beings and to have received this blessing.
There are those who spend their lives searching for the beautiful pearl of wisdom, who spend their lives in service to others so that they may experience a greater truth. I know many of these wonderful people, and I want to join them in greater service. That is why I want to share the beautiful pearl of forgiveness that I experienced with you. To try to express this in words is very challenging, and I am grateful for so much encouragement from people I love and admire.

About the Author
Firozia has served as a spiritual leader and teacher in the Sufi International Order for more than thirty years. She is an ordained minister (Cheraga) in the Universal Worship of the Sufi Order, which recognizes and honors all the major religions of the world. She is the Sufi Order Representative for the Northern Indiana Sufi Center where she has served as a Sufi Teacher for over twenty-five years.
