Why did Jesus come to earth? You might say to bring us salvation, hope, peace, love and have life to the fullest which is all correct, but 1 John 3:8 takes it one step further when it says, “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”
The Bible teaches that Satan and demons exist and that they will attempt to create trouble for Christians. This is an important warning that we would be wise to heed. The story of the Fall in Genesis describes Satan’s modus operandi. Satan persuades people that God’s prohibitions are unnecessary, that God is merely trying to withhold something good from us. If people accept what Satan is saying, they will distrust and disobey God and be increasingly influenced by Satan.
Everyday temptations and sins parallel the Genesis account. In all of these common temptations, people willfully disobey God, doubting the wisdom or goodness of His commands. This puts them more and more under the influ-ence of evil. Further discussion of these concepts can be found throughout this book.
In Hosea 4:6 we read “My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge.” This is what I feel is the basic premise of why many of God’s people are struggling in both their spiritual and secular lives. An old adage says an evil thought passes through your door first as a stranger – then it enters as a guest. At the time of this writing, the divorce rate is the same for Christians as for non-Christians. Why are some Christians on drugs, unwed Christians having babies, Christians who are dependent on alcohol, unwed Christians living together as man and wife and Christians having all sorts of problems? Could it be because Satan has a hand in these matters? Could it be that he’s enticing these people to do his will? Hopefully this book can help you decide. Do we as Christians obey God’s Commandments and hold the testimony of Jesus? Then are we the ones that Satan is after? He already has the non-Christians so now he is after us. According to Matthew 4, Jesus was tempted by Satan but Jesus told him “It is written…” Outside of the name of Jesus, these are the most powerful words you can use in spiritual warfare. If Jesus was tempted, how much more can Satan and his demons tempt us? PAGE 1 Since we have God’s authority we can say, “Satan and you demons I bind you in the name of Jesus. You cannot come against me, my mind, my physical body, my family, my finances, my…” Try it. It works. “Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven…” (Matthew 16:19) God gave this power to us in the name of Jesus but I am sad to say that many Christians do not even try it – or know they can use it again Satan and his demons. Bind, bind, bind; these are powerful words to use in spiritual warfare. This book takes you on a biblical excursion with a topic called spiritual warfare. It’s about Satan and his demons but mainly our authority over them and how we can control his influence in our lives and remove many of our problems through binding their power in the name of Jesus. Discussion of deliverance also is included along with prayers, teaching and other elements to remove any demonic influence in our lives. Chapters include (1) establishing the biblical foundation for spiritual warfare, (2) weaknesses that open us up to Satan, (3) what we must do to defeat Satan, (4) examples of binding Satan, (5) faith and beyond, (6) breaking down strongholds - basics of deliverance, (7) where did the demons come from, (8) demons: what the Bible says about them, (9) biblical names for Satan and further study, (10) scriptures dealing with the occult, (11) your preparation and the deliverance session, (12) how to keep your deliverance, (13) getting involved in Satanism, and (14) final comments and conclusion.
Some specific areas include how Satan and his demons work, enslavement, unforgiveness, law of generations, using the quiji board, soul ties, soul travel (astral projection), incubus and succubus, curses, “bloody Mary,” giving Satan the “legal right,” tarot card reading, séances, demonic influence of children, our minds – the battleground, why some people do not get delivered, strongholds in our lives, etc.
On the positive side, some areas of inclusion are what we can do to defeat Satan, fighting the good fight of faith, knowing your authority, caveats from James 3:13-16, binding Satan and his demons, having the power from Jesus, overcoming strongholds, seven weapons to use against Satan and his demons, how to prepare yourself for the deliverance session, the actual Page 2 deliverance session, the post-deliverance session and teaching, spiritual groupings for deliverance, Ephesians 6:10-18, support from Old Testament and New Testament scriptures, etc.
The above are only a small sampling of the contents within the book. Many personal examples are used to support the statements. When you complete the reading of this book you should be prepared to defeat the likes of Satan and the demons who are trying to attack you physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Remember, Jesus is the only way to overcome the evil one which is the main emphasis of this book. May God bless you as you read to enhance and acquire knowledge regarding spiritual warfare and deliverance.
