Thinking on Purpose

As human beings, we're all unique and special, with unlimited possibilities. We have every right to be here, and to enjoy a life filled with joy, abundance, success and happiness. Goal striving is in our nature, and we're all at our best when we have meaningful goals that we're working towards, even more so when they're aligned with a ling term vision. The result is meaning, purpose, and incredible satisfaction in our lives. We're also uniquely able to consciously choose our thoughts, which is one of the things that separates us from all other species. And not learning how to take control of this unique ability is one of the main reasons so many people fail to capitalize on opportunities that present themselves. It's the thoughts we allow ourselves to emotionally connect with; either consciously - usually intended- or unconsciously - usually unintended - that determine how we feel. And it's our feelings that determine how we act. And it's our actions, day in and day out, that determine the results in each of our respective lives. Consequently, indirectly - yet surely - our thoughts are the drivers that ultimately create our outcomes. It may be helpful to think of your subconscious mind a s a fertile garden, ready to grow whatever is planted, and of your conscious mind as your ability to do the planting. In this fertile garden, everything grows - good, bad, flowers, weeds. The key is in learning to effectively manage your conscious mind and make sure you plant only the constructive seeds you desire and not the destructive ones you don't. And if some destructive ones happen to fall in to your garden by mistake, you need to learn how to quickly rip them out before they take root and choke out your constructive seeds. This is a concept readily understood and accepted in the material world, but seldom recognized and applied in our emotional world. Awareness and understanding are a couple of the first, and most important milestones on any personal development journey and there is no shortage of outstanding material available on the subject today. Personal responsibility is also an important part in creating the future of our dreams. We should expect to achieve success if, and only if, we are willing to take full responsibility for the thoughts we allow ourselves to become emotionally connected with. Responsibility comes from bringing together the words response, and ability, or said in another way, your ability to choose your response. In the plane of life, we need to get up out of the comfort zone of economy and step into the cockpit to claim our rightful spot in the pilot's seat. But before we do that, we need to not only learn how to fly, but also how to file a new flight plan - which in a nutshell what this workbook is all about.
