Female Divine, Hurt No More

Besides love, there is no greater yearning for the female divine than the desire to experience intimacy with a partner. It is the most common word that women utter when discussing the ideals they wish to attain in a loving relationship. It is also a word that makes many men cringe. Why is it that such an important piece of the “Relationship Puzzle” causes such a polar opposite reaction between men and women? Why do women desire intimacy so much and why are men so afraid of it?
Intimacy is the ability to nakedly connect with someone on a very deep and soulful level without any inhibitions or fears. Intimacy allows us to open our hearts to the very depth of the soul and to allow someone to not only see it, but to touch the very core of our being. When we are intimate with someone, we have no barriers or boundaries because we feel a deep sense of trust in our soul that this person will not hurt, betray or belittle us in any way. The act of intimacy allows us to blend the energies of love, passion, playfulness and security all into one big burst of divine connection.
Intimacy is found in the subtle but profound little gestures that are gifted from a deep space of affection and authentic love. We can see intimacy at play when two lovers affectionately play with each other’s feet while lying on the beach, when a couple lock into a passionate stare from across the room and indulge themselves in an intimate conversation with their eyes, or when a couple “spoon” each other in bed for no other reason than to feel the pulse and warmth in each other’s bodies. Intimacy is non-verbal in words but so profoundly vocal in the energy of unconditional love. It is the small wonders of intimacy that create powerhouses couples that can take on the world with all its drama and conflicts because at the end of the day, the lovers fall into a safe and nesting cocoon of intimate union.
One of the greatest obstacles of intimacy exists in the fast pace world that we live in today. Society as a whole has been conditioned to receive instant gratification for almost everything. The demand to make everything available at the fingertips has made it challenging for people to slow down and to enjoy the more subtle pleasures of life. Everything is on the go—on the run—and little time is given—if at all—to the preciousness to just be in the present moment and to savor what life is truly about—the experience of being “in the experience.” Intimacy allows us to slow down and to be in the moment of feeling. It is truly one of the greatest gifts that we can experience and share with another person—and with ourselves.
Because females are generally deeper in touch with their emotional aspect, they possess the ability and desire to be present in the feelings and sensations of life. This ability can be both a blessing and a curse because being in touch with your feelings does not always guarantee that you will always feel blissful. Females tend to worry more than men do and are also more in-tuned with the feelings of others; especially when it comes to their children, close family members and friends. Men, on the other hand, tend to focus on what is presently in front of them and they tend to be more rational and logical in their thinking and less in touch with their emotional aspect. This is where the male divine gets into trouble; they can’t allow themselves to experience intimacy because they are conditioned to not be in touch with their emotions.
