I have mentioned before, that we are always doing our best in each and every situation and in each particular moment according to what we have learned and been taught up until that time. That doesn’t mean that we might not do things differently as we learn more and as we grow and evolve. It just means that we are always doing our best in that and every particular moment.
With that in mind, understand that we have the best of intentions when we think that we have to use judgments as instruments to protect, care for and support ourselves and those that we love. When we use judgments, we are always believing that we have to be able to distinguish between polarities such as:
Right and wrong
Good and bad
What is possible and impossible
What to do and not to do
What to love and what to fear
What will lead to success or failure
Who to love and who not to love
Who to trust and who not to trust
We judge in order to make the best decisions and choose the "right" actions. Our judgments though, can be based upon many things that negatively affect our perception and ability to truly “see.” Judgments can be based upon our ingrained beliefs, negative self-esteem, fears, limits we believe in, conditioning, failures, rejection, abandonment and loss. Together these types of experiences create filters, which are like glasses or lenses through which we see the world. They color our perceptions and create our judgments. For example, once someone has continually failed at certain efforts, they expect that failure will happen again and again and they may even play a part in creating the circumstances around which failure is created….. a self-fulfilling prophecy becomes created.

About the Author
Becky Mulkern is a licensed naturopathic doctor, trauma counselor, and holistic practitioner who has been on radio and TV, written for health journals and local newspapers, and taught at colleges and universities. She is a member of the New Hampshire Association of Naturopathic Doctors, a founding board member of the White Mountain Waldorf School, a Facilitator for the Pachamama Alliance, and a dedicated organic gardener and environmentalist.
In her “Life is an Opportunity” classes, she witnessed miraculous healing changes, which deeply touched her heart and soul. She wrote this book to share her healing process with others, so they could see, as she did, that “Life is an Opportunity.” Becky lives in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
