HEALING

It happened one day, when a book came my way …

‘You Can Heal Your Life’ a book by Louise Hay

In our local library, it popped up in front of me

Very brightly coloured so it made me want to see

What lay inside such welcoming walls

I sat down to read and became enthralled

Louise was speaking directly to me, with everything she had to say

How did she know? how could she see? - it resonated straight away

So many of the things she’d written down

Were entrenched in my life and I was starting to drown

Not coping, not dealing - barely getting by

Life was so suffocating, I’d wanted to die

But now - Oh Wow! - I felt so alive

As I voraciously swallowed, the advice inside

This book so exciting, I couldn’t believe

It should have ‘SOLID GOLD’ printed on its sleeve!

Fantastic! Just magic, my lifeline at last

It became my bible - it is unsurpassed

So I studied my book and worked very hard

To make changes to ‘me,’ where I’d been so scarred

As I learned new beliefs and challenged old ways

I created a ‘new me’ to continue my days

My essence is safe, I finally decide

With the wisdom and truth, I found deep inside

Now I feel it’s a pleasure to just be alive

Though I’m not pretending, that I ‘have arrived’

I’m still learning and changing, and doing my best

To ensure that I’m able, to rise to the test

I’m now just beginning, to see why I’m here

I have much to offer, and I want to be clear

My life is to serve and help where I can

To offer some kindness, to my fellow man

If one person’s pain, can be eased by my writings

Then my pen is the healer, and that’s so exciting

It’s so helpful to me, to write down my thoughts

When the pen with it’s power, offers mutual support

So Louise - you have saved me - just one in the crowd

Your writings so powerful and their message so loud

I started my healing, by working with you

Now I know all the answers are inside me too

Please accept my thanks, from my soul to your own

For at last I can feel that I have come home

You’ll continue your work, as I begin mine

My mentor, my saviour, my guide for all time

Healing together and with everyone else

The whole world is learning, to ‘love the self’

Millions of people must thank you I know
