The Blue-

An epic and gripping tale of catastrope and the will to survive. They kept coming; a horde, amassing toward empty hope. Resistance was futile. Humanity was trying to combat smoke- an insubstantial lethal ghost. The entire world’s vast weaponry, sat impotent against a faceless, formless enemy of the people. No trigger was pulled; no button was pushed- not a single bullet was fired. Case after case, began to assault the world’s health facilities; it was a Saturday evening in December 2012- Scientists were bewildered. There was neither- cadence, nor reason to who survived and who perished. There were no biases toward race, gender, age, religion or wealth – the viral path showed no restrictions. The postulating of probabilities- the applying of science, through vast technologies; procured no results. Processing and delving, into the irrationality of the worldwide pandemic, was over; before, the specialists could be convened and equipment warmed up. Caught, a deer staring into blinding headlights with its pants down; humanity was road kill. Chaos spread worldwide- superseding, all artificial borders. Death did not claim all, some survivors were transformed into variations of humanity. The Blue is a story of Sam- a survivor of the pandemic, the virus transformed her. A being now- of unique qualities. Sam was not alone. Reds, greens, browns- each color had a characteristic associated with it. Fast, strong and able to heal- they could be killed.
