About the Book

This book is lovingly dedicated to the three generations of women who have shaped her life. To her mother, whose strength, grace, and creativity continue to inspire her daily. Her love lives in every brushstroke and every memory that guided her back to painting. To her daughters, who encouraged her to pick up her brushes again when she felt overwhelmed, reminding her that creativity can heal and that life must continue with courage and hope. And to her grandchildren, who represent the future, she wishes them lives filled with imagination, curiosity, kindness, and color. Through this book, Minu shares not only her art but also the love that binds her family across generations.

About the Author

Minu Parti Verma, the author of her personal autobiography titled “Misfit,” continues to nurture her passion for art, creativity, and style. As both a visual artist and a writer, she evolves as an artist and a writer. Her primary mediums are oil and acrylic painting. From a young age, Minu was drawn to creativity. She loved sketching, writing, and exploring artistic expression. While living in New York, she began experimenting with paint brushes and oil paints, discovering the joy of bringing ideas and emotions to life on canvas. At different points in her youth, she imagined becoming an architect or a designer. Minu believes she is a person who uses both sides of her brain, balancing creativity with compassion and practicality. As life unfolded, Minu found deep fulfillment in helping and serving others through her work in the health field. She came to believe that art, much like care and compassion, can play a meaningful role in healing and emotional well-being. This understanding shaped both her professional path and her creative life. After the loss of her beloved mother in 2020, Minu returned to painting with renewed purpose. Encouraged by her daughters, who gently reminded her of her love for painting in New York, she picked up her brushes again. What began as a way to process grief soon became a powerful form of remembrance and tribute. During this time, her earliest paintings were created in black and red, inspired by her mother, who wore red lipstick every day until the end of her life. Today, all of Minu’s artwork carries a connection to her mother’s memory. Her mother was also artistic and musical, and Minu continues to honor her through every piece she creates. Minu says, “My art is a part of me. I have been inspired by many artists, experiences, and moments throughout my life.” Minu, an artist with a deep connection to the fashion world, has had a successful career in both New York and California. She worked as a print model and even taught modeling and produced fashion shows. Her passion for style remains strong, and she believes that health, beauty, and confidence are closely connected. Minu emphasizes the importance of feeling healthy, as it radiates from within and contributes to true confidence, which is the essence of style. She attributes much of her inspiration and encouragement to her family. With the unwavering support of her husband and daughters, she continues to explore her creativity, express her ideas, and live authentically. Minu’s daughters inspire her to keep creating and to think outside the box in a world that often tries to define her. Through her art, writing, and now this coloring book, Minu shares her creativity and her belief that art can connect generations, heal the heart, and bring beauty into everyday life.
