About the Book

In an enchanted forest, animals feel deeply, face life’s challenges, and discover gentle guidance in the plants that surround them. Through forty-four beautifully crafted tales— each exploring a unique feeling alongside a corresponding plant—children are invited into a warm and reflective universe where emotions are met with understanding, compassion, and curiosity. From joy and courage to sadness and uncertainty, these heartfelt tales offer a tender pathway into emotional awareness. Each story includes an empowering affirmation and six thoughtful questions that open the door to deeper conversations, helping children and caregivers connect, reflect, and grow together. Blending imagination with traditional plant knowledge, this one-of-a-kind collection offers a gentle invitation to slow down, turn inward, and rediscover a bond with nature. Flora, Fauna, and Feelings shares magical forest tales and reflective exercises that blend emotional intelligence with nature’s wisdom to help children understand their feelings and awaken a lasting sense of wonder.

About the Author

Mette Willum (born 1965) is a trained teacher and has, alongside her teaching career, worked extensively with medicinal herbs and completed courses in Nordic shamanism, Bach Flower Remedies and is also a master in hypnoses and hypnotherapy. The Bach Flower Remedies help people connect with their emotions in a natural and liberating way. Healing facial creams and restorative herbal salves are among the products through which Mette has so far transformed her plant knowledge into practical use. Through many years of working with children and young people, she has gained deep knowledge and experience in well-being and conflict resolution within educational settings. She has taught in public schools, independent schools, and residential care homes, which has given her a broad and grounded approach to children’s emotional development and challenges, as well as a strong understanding of how different upbringing conditions influence children’s lives. In her private life, Mette enjoys winter swimming and loves being creative with knitting, colors, and crafts. The forest and in her garden are where she relaxes, recharges, and fills up with good energy.
