He made me pay for the six months I left him. When my daughter was awake he would not touch me but he was verbally abusive with us. He gave us food and he would do his things but not far from us, so I could not run away. As soon as my daughter went to bed, he put me on a chair and asked me hundreds of questions accusing me of anything and everything. -“What did you do in my absence? You wanted to cheat on me, didn’t you? You gave your ass to someone else, that’s why you left me!”, he’d say. He was making patterns in his head and asked me questions till it clicked and then continued with the next question. He was slapping me, punching me, kicking me and spitting on me till six in the morning every day. I looked like nothing with wounds and bruises all over my body. When it would be six in the morning, I’d go take a bath before my daughter would wake up. I had to take care of her like nothing happened and even wore a cap all the time so she couldn’t see the bruises on my face. He was not sleeping at all, but I was falling asleep next to my daughter while she was watching television during the day. It was so extremely hard for me, knowing that my daughter was exposed to this mad guy, but I wasn’t able to do anything at all. Sometimes when my daughter was sleeping, he would get me naked and spit on me. He made me do things like making sounds as if I was having sex and then rape me while I was crying inside and out. When he finished he would start beating me again till the morning. Two times I tried to run away when I got the opportunity because he left the door or window open. I left my daughter sleeping when I got the chance to escape, and I just ran looking for help but it was lockdown: there was nobody on the road or even outside. Both times he caught me and it went on like this for nearly three months.

About the Book
This book is filled with testimonials of women from all over the world, that have experienced an abusive relationship. All stories are anonimous to protect the safety of each individual. The different stories are mind-blowing, true eye-openers and all have a similarity, raising awareness on the subject. It’s truly mind-boggling how often situations like domestic relational violence occur and how little this is talked about. It is a very serious problem that needs solving, which we can achieve working all together and first of all shed light on.
About the Author
Lisanne is an advocate for women’s rights to achieve equality. She’s very aware of the fact that subjects like domestic violence, abuse and violation, needs to receive more attention. She graduated as a primary school teacher, is an ex-professional fighter who represented the Peruvian’s national team, founded a NGO to run social projects, momentarily working in the Andean mountains with local women. She facilitates therapy sessions, thai massage, energy healing, yoga classes and muay thai classes.
