The Inner Voice, the Inner Self
We are all born with a voice.
An inner voice that instinctively knows what is right for us and attempts to guide us to that right path.
You may have heard it called your intuition or your gut feeling.
Whatever name it has been given, in reality, it is the voice of the inner being that we all have that connects us to the Higher Source of Life.
Depending on your religious or spiritual beliefs, you may refer to this Source of Life as The Universe, a Higher Power, Allah, Jehovah, Adonai, The Man Upstairs, or simply God.
We are all born connected to this Source.
After we are born, over time as we grow up in the world, we slowly lose the connection to that inner voice. Due to our culture, what is acceptable in our society, what we learn from our family and friends, and sometimes just through the habit of not listening to our inner voice, we can gradually stop hearing its message to us.
Then at some point in our life we may have the urge or feeling that we need to reconnect to our Unique Inner Being and learn to hear that guidance again.
We have never lost that person we are inside. We just stopped listening, so the guidance quietens down and we may forget about it for a while.
We simply need to remember.
We have to remember and trust that the Inner Voice will never lead us astray, lie to us, never lead us down the wrong path in life, IT CAN’T because it is intuition, it is instinct.
Ram Das said, “The only true obligation we have in this life is to connect with our Inner Being. If a person can find himself, if he can get in touch with his true self, this is his highest duty and will be his biggest journey. For then his choices, all his decisions will be in harmony with Truth, Honor, and Integrity.”
.
The key to life is being able to honestly reconnect to ourselves and “Know Thyself”. (Friedrich Nietzsche)
Our own Voice is the most important voice we all need to hear; the one that will guide us and inspire us to believe in ourselves as individuals and in Mankind’s Common Humanity.
The Voice of our Inner Being will empower us with unconditional love, true compassion, and the confidence to speak out against hatred, violence, cruelty and injustice.
True empowerment comes when we have the courage to openly be the very personification of unconditional love and compassion to everyone.
Getting in touch with our true self does not happen instantly. It may have been years since we listened to our inner dialogue, so it will take time to hear it again. It is a process to awaken to the need to reconnect then find the right path for us to be able to hear ourselves again.
Each person is different so everyone will have to find their own way, their own unique path to follow. But once you’re on the journey, success is a sure thing. Life, the Universe, god will make sure you succeed. It’s the reason you’re here.
