I trust you to find inspiration to activate your samaritan side at a moments notice... but just to get your imagination chemistry started... here are some ideas... 30. Take your kids to go buy something for a needy child: a present at christmas, school supplies before school year begins, food for the nearby food pantry… 31. If you see something that fell to the floor at a store, pick it up and put it back (of course be mindful of produce condition). It might prevent someone from getting hurt or at least helps the store employees. 32. Offer babysitting to a neighbor who looks like they need a break or a date night… 33. When someone asks how you are, don’t just say ‘well’, use happier words like ‘wonderful’ or ‘fantastic’. It will be something unexpected in a positive way. Will make them wonder what you’ve been up to. 34. Recognize the feelings and voice understanding before you give advice to someone that you feel need a more positive outlook… promote the positive in their life, minimize the impact of the negative. 35. Practice empathy. Put yourself in someone else’s shoes, even if the shoe doesn’t fit. The least you will accomplish is making them feel they’re not alone. 36. When providing a shoulder or ear to someone, keep the conversation about them, not about you. Remember to listen more than you speak, and try to see things/events from THEIR point of view. 37. Read a passage from the bible or an inspirational word to someone else who needs a change of focus from fear and worry…

This book is an honest attempt/tool to get fellow brothers and sisters in Christ inspired, motivated, and actively seeking ways to help others along the way. I know we are all busy and that fear can take over when there is so much chaos and violence and distrust around us. We fear negative outcomes of our well-meaning actions, or we fear we are wasting our time. But I say turn to the Bible for inspiration and take a chance. Remember the main instruction of love for God—trust God’s love for us and show love to our brothers and sisters in Christ. Little by little, we can make this world a better place one plate of food at a time, one unexpected compliment at a time, one lawn mowed at a time, one book reading at a time, one listening and nonjudgmental ear at a time, even one smile at a time. Use your own unique talents and help someone today. Do your part and leave the outcome to God.

No, she is not a studied psychologist or theologist. She is just a blessed (as we all are) human being with her own talents and favorite ways to bless others.
