Bernadetta DeVittoria—or Bernie, as her friends call her—once worked for the Renard Chemical Company. Thanks to a particularly nasty divorce, she’s now looking to be hired back. As she investigates plaintiffs and other innocents sickened or killed due to Renard negligence, Bernie feels pulled in all directions. Does she do her job or follow her conscience? The outcome is completely in her hands. What happens when big business ignores responsible ethics for the sake of profit? People get hurt, but is it possible for Bernie to go after the big boys without destroying everything she’s worked to get back?
