Looking for Grampa’s Beard

Summer came along and the girls were eager to talk to GiGi and Grampa. The girls were on summer vacation and loved going to the beach. “Come out GiGi! Come out Grampa! Emma and Ellie want to play!” But this time only GiGi was at the computer. She was smiling but she knew it would be hard to hide her sadness. She also knew this was going to be a very hard video chat. Emma started the conversation quickly. “GiGi, where’s Grampa? We want to show him how great we can pray our prayers. Mama said that Jesus hears us talking about Grampa. He doesn’t feel good. I don’t want him to be sick. I want him to take us to the beach and pull us in the wagon.” GiGi looked at the screen with tears in her eyes. “Darlings, Grampa is in the hospital. His heart is very weak. Don’t stop praying and thinking nice thoughts about him. Remember that Jesus wants us to pray for family, friends and those that need his help. Ellie was holding Ralphie and asked if Grampa’s face was hairy. Tell him we miss him. Tell him we love him. He’s a good guy. With tears in her eyes GiGi says, “Yes girls, I tell him that allll the time and he smiles when I tell him you are learning your prayers. Praying for other people is a wonderful gift to give someone. Pray and make a change for the world. Prayers can make a difference.”
