Hello, I am Sol, and I have watched over this corner of the universe for billions of years. Due to my advanced age, I have lived long enough to see some really crazy stuff, like comets catching waves around space, asteroids picking a fight with each other over there by the asteroid belt, and meteorites crash-landing on planets. But the thing that has kept my attention for all these eons is Luna. She is a satellite, or what some might call a moon. I have watched over her for a very, very long time. During the course of her life, I have sent my rays of light to guide her and her blue planetary friend, Terra. Their relationship has always fascinated me. And it is for this reason that I share her story with you—the story of her birth, growth, change, and rebirth.

About the Book
Sol has watched over his corner of the universe for billions of years. Due to his advanced age, he has lived long enough to see some really crazy stuff, but the celestial sighting that has kept his attention the most is Luna. She is a satellite, or what some might call a moon. Sol has taken care of Luna for a very, very long time, so he understands all she’s been through. Sol sends his rays of light to guide Luna and her blue planetary friend, Terra. The two have a strong friendship, dedicated to each other. However, things aren’t always easy out in space. As Luna changes moon phases, she experiences self-doubt, loneliness, and bullying. Her phases echo the human life, from light to dark, happy to sad, waxing to waning. Through it all, Terra and Sol stay close, but it’s up to Luna to find the courage to shine bright. Intended for readers both young and old, Luna’s Light is an inspirational book that portrays all the varying phases of our lives while teaching children about the monthly journey of the moon. This is a story of birth, growth, change, and rebirth, set in the endless skies above our heads, that encourages everyone to be resilient and find hope even in the dark times.
About the Author
Kimberly Thomas and Karyn Thomas both hold master’s degrees in education and have been public school educators for more than twelve years. The love for their family, their students, and all things science fiction led them to write this inspirational book. They currently both live and work in southern California.
