Chrissie was very excited. In her family, each year, one of the cute, stripey-feathered chicks had a turn at giving out all of the Christmas treasures! These had all been so lovingly and thoughtfully brought here by their Mummy Clarissa. She had come back to visit them after being away all year and they were all so overjoyed to see each other. This year, it was Chrissie’s turn! Her big, loving Daddy, Clementine Cassowary, had chosen a very special tree to be their Christmas tree. It was in a nice, shady,sheltered spot in the rainforest and was called a Cassowary Plum Tree. Under this was where Clarissa had made her very special Christmas treasures’ nest. Now, Chrissie had been peeking into the specially made nest every day since Clarissa had carefully and lovingly put her gifts in there. She had covered them over with sticks, leaves and branches so that no little cassowary chick’s prying eyes could see them. Chrissie would gaze into the nest and touch it gently, wondering what was in each one, so cautiously deposited there and hidden with such care. On this particular day, she was becoming more and more curious. Chrissie just could not help herself!

Kristina’s married, has two wonderful teenagers, and is living in Cairns, Australia. She’s been an early childhood teacher, with her journey of self-development starting while reading Dr. Wayne Dyer’s Your Erroneous Zones at seventeen.
Kristina hopes to positively affect children all over the world with her beautiful children’s stories. This is her second.
