MY VOICE
My voice,
my expression of who I am.
I opened into the roar,
and shrunk back a little from the shock of the unfamiliar sound.
Cautious I try again,
as my throat aches from the stretch.
New territory!
to be able to speak up,
to ask for what I need,
to say NO to what feels unsafe,
to say NO to what does not nourish me.
TO JUST SAY NO!
I believe that I have the right to be heard,
listened to.
I am worthy of it!
To deeply,
fully STOP,
and listen to myself.
My voice,
I release my voice.
It is safe to speak!
