About the Author

Maggie Davis-Jelly, LCSW, is in private practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the New York/New Jersey metro area. Maggie graduated from Ramapo College of New Jersey in 1985. A Graduate School of Social Work student at NYU, she left to raise her family and continued on to graduate from Rutgers University, NJ/MSW/LCSW program, in 1991. Maggie started “Art by Me: Photography and Art for Non-Profits” in 1999. Maggie is a past board member of Family Promise of Sussex County, where she has continued to volunteer for the past twenty years. Maggie volunteers for H.O.W. Global, Inc., and Pass-it-Along, Inc. Maggie is an advocate for victims of domestic violence and volunteers for the Nurtured Parent and the Children’s Justice Campaign, both nonprofit organizations that raise awareness by speaking out against and lending support to empower survivors of domestic violence. Maggie has been a student of martial arts at East West Karate Academy, Sussex County, New Jersey, beginning in 1997.

Maggie lives with her husband, Bill. Together they have grown children: Evan Thomas Jelly of Boston, Massachusetts; Alexander Davis Jelly; Christina Marie Knips Jelly of Andover, New Jersey; and Nora Margaret Jelly of Greensboro, NC. The Jelly family resides in Sussex County, New Jersey, and West Tisbury, Massachusetts.
